So I'm just sittin here minding my own business trying to do this 2 weeks liquid diet THAT SUX BY THE WAY!!! and everything on TV is about FOOD!!! they all want me to eat!!! and maybe is just me but I see alot of new foods that I want to try that I did not even see before wtf??? and why is everybody calling me to go out to clubs and hang out NOW!!! some of these people I have not even talk to for a long time and all of the sudden this weekend they decide that its the best time to call me to go out and drink!!!!!!!!!!! WHY????????? the best part is they don't even know I'm having surgery.....Its sick I THINK EVERYBODY IS MESSING WITH ME!!!! I can't go out or go to anybody house now because I don't trust myself and I will mess up big time BECAUSE I WILL EAT SOMETHING OR SOMEBODY!!!!
I know its going to get better after surgery but this liquid diet is KICKING MY ASS ....I wish I could still take my pills(phentromine) I could do this with NO PROBLEM!!!
OK now that I let it all out I feel so much better....sorry I'm in a crazy mood all i can eat is shakes, jello, pops and I'm not really the sweet food type of girl I like the regular food....why cant they make cheeseburger flavor shakes??? or pasta with sauce cheese or no cheese flavor??? lolll ok I'm going crazy I know I should not post this but I will ......ty for listening I'm really a normal person REALLY!!! lol

I agree with you there are a TON of food advertisments nearly everywhere I look.  Magazines, TV and movies, and billboards of restaurants and casino food.. it sucks and America wonders why people have weight issues  we advertise like crazy to eat everything but then tell everyone they can't eat because we need to look like movie stars... I don't think you are crazy our world is. :)

Awwwww hun..  i hear you...

Suggestion:  Turn off the TV or stay away from the triggers.
Try and keep busy with other things...

Also... remember your surgery goal...   its worth it.  Take one day at a time.
All you have to do is today. That is it.  then tomorrow when you wake up...
you do just today.

add me  ..i am on every night if you want to talk.

LOL - you just made me think about my 2 week liquid diet - in one day my work buddy ate a cheeseburger in front of me, my daughters BF brought a 5 guys cheeseburger in (i kicked him out to the porch) and then a wendy's commercial came on.  I went out in the car and cried!  But I made it and you will too!  Good luck, your gonna do great!

gurl . . .

I said it be4 and will say it again, the pre-op liquid diet IS THE WORST PART OF THIS--and after 2-1/2 years on maintenance (which is hard, btw); the pre-op is STILL THE WORST. lol

But, also, do know that though I can't offer knock your socks off yummy delishisness for folks who prefer savory over sweet; I do want you to know you can do things other

like cream soups, or you can take ricotta cheese and dress it with some italian herbs and warm up. Maybe egg drop soup? or my new fav, Miso Soup.

yes, our American "way" is so food based, it's no wonder that obesity is epidemic. But I also suppose that you are hypersensitive since you are "depriving"---forget the quotes, you are depriving yourself right now.

Isn't it amazing that just about everything is food based with (fill in the blank) present? Like, think of social events . . .isn't it more a food event with people present. It is hard to switch the mentally to make it more a people event. Try planning an event without food, and it will be noticed. lol--it just is that way. But it is a journey and a process, and the tools you'll learn in the pre and losing stage you will still need to use in maintenance stage ('course it is easier to not "want" it as much when you have little to no grehlin and lots of restriction )

Hugs, and hang in there, a year from now you'll be telling newbies how to get through this.

I remember my two week liquid diet as well. And you are right, for some reasons, I saw more food commericals during that time then I see now.

My husband when he would eat he woudl go into ta different room and eat, but it did not bother me when he ate.

Sorry you are having such a hard time, just 4 more days for you.. Good Luck to you.

There were some difficult times for me post-op- but I can honestly say the only terrible thing about my whole post-VSG experience was that stupid two week diet. I was the BIGGEST ***** I was mean, spiteful, felt terrible, thought I was making the wrong decision, was always tired....etc. etc. etc. So you do whatever you have to do to get through it- I promise though- there's no conspiracy!! It's just YOU making the right decision for the rest of YOUR life!!!
