Can anyone recommened a great VSG surgeon besides DR SUDAN! Dr Sudan is fine ...its his damn PSYCHO THERAPIST whatever the hell she is! She will not approve me because she wants me to continue to spend money to see a counselor that does absolutely nothing for me! I told her that I have anxiety...not HIGH ANXIETY!! I just get antsy from time to time....I started this journey in January...here it is in September and havent had my surgery scheduled yet! Im just done with that office.

So can you help me...Please!!!

I went to the Duke Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery. I can't recommend a particular surgeon (although I love Dr. Portenier who did my surgery) because they assign you a surgeon after you fill out their questionnaire (very long form!) and attend their surgery seminar/information session. Here is a link to their website:

Good Luck to you!

My surgeon, Dr. David Voellinger is fantastic. He is in Charlotte. The practice is called Southeast Bariatrics. I was in the hospital overnight and since I was doing fine, I went home after lunchtime. The staff are all really supportive but I will warn you, he gets behind with his appointments so you have to plan to be there a while....just know that going in! They have a really good supplement store with great items. Dr V. is super friendly and down to earth...I'm a nurse so when I tell you he doesn't have the surgeon attitude, you can believe it!
Their website is http://www.southeastbariatrics.com
Tell them I sent you!

I second on the time thing ad Dr. Voellinger. He is execellant as a surgeon but dealing with the office staff was my personal hell. I like his reputation and history but the procedures they make you follow and thier lack of communication is down right annoying

I live in Charlotte but my surgeon is in Columbia, SC. It was so worth the trip there. His name is Dr. Dalton *****ett. I saw another surgeon before I went to Dr. *****ett. Dr. *****ett and his staff are absolutely amazing. My experience could not have been better with them.

I used Dr. Bruce from Bariatric Specialists of NC.  His office is in Cary!  He hasn't done a lot of sleeves, but he is very careful and did a great job with mine.

The Psychologist he sent me to was really easy to work with.  I liked her, and I DO have issues, was on meds for anxiety.

The other surgeons in that practice also have great reputations, I have esp. heard good things about Dr. Enoch.  I met Dr. Bruce at their seminar and he just seemed like my kind of guy.  He gave me a hug at my first post-op appointment!  He is a very caring guy.  The office staff has also been GREAT.  If you go, tell them I sent you!
