Do you count the calories in your vitamins?

Just curious, when you log your calories, do you include the ones from your vitamins? Between my fiber gummies that I take twice a day, my gummy vitamin in the morning, my calcium+fiber chews in the morning, and my calcium chews that I take twice a day, I'm getting almost 100 extra calories. Currently, I log them, but I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do?

I dont count mine. I have a tough enough time tracking water and protein. Plus I see it as 100 extra calories that my body needs.

I count the calories, but especially the carbs - and for the same reason.

A suggestion: order some Now brand Calcium Citrate powder (Netrition.com and a lot of other websites). It's great mixed in coffee, protein drinks, etc. and it has no calories/carbs.

Consider ditching the gummy vitamin as well for a couple of reasons: first, you need a good quality vitamin and that probably isn't it. I'd recommend a bariatric vitamin. I switched to capsules with my surgeon's OK after my one-month appointment. Second, again, is the carbs.

I'm now down to my D3, my chewable iron (bariatric and the ONLY way I can tolerate it) and my fiber as the supplements I log, as they're the only ones with calories/carbs. If I have a half Quest bar (way high in fiber) I ditch most of the fiber supplements, otherwise they alone are 45 calories a day.

I don't. But I don't get all caught up in counting exactly how many calories or how many carbs. I count an aproximate, and that's good enough for me....

No, I view this as a lifestyle change.......which means I want to enjoy life not count every single morsel I put in my mouth.  I make sure w/ my food intake mentally I stay under 8-900 calories and under 40grams of carbs.  But I know if I mess up I need to correct myself immediately.  This works for me. I just don't wont to become a calorie/carb junkie, and have to sit down and check my calories/carbs before I decide to eat  "one grape", or "one cracker".  I periodically check on my fitnesspal the nutritional value for different foods items so I do know the numbers and that's keeps me on track.  Not overeating my sleeve, selecting healthy options, eating enough proteins, making sure fluids are 48-64oz and exercising are the keys to success in my lifestyle change.  As mentioned before, a better selection for calicum citrate is batriactric advantage or celebrate.

I do but I wish I'd stop.  Makes me feel like a freak.  Way too obsessive.

The chews should be logged, they are high in carbs.

If I eat 'em, I log 'em. Its a slippery slope to count some carbs/cals and not others. That's my personal philosophy for what its worth. There are many paths to the promised land better known as goal. Good luck everyone!

That does seem like a rather high number of calories for just vitamins.  I agree with the suggestions to look into other options with less carbs.

But if you don't want to switch supplements, I don't think I would log them all every day.  I'd just make note of that 100 calories and how ever many carbs, and subtract it from what you allow yourself each day.
