I don't think weight loss will make vericose veins go away.  In fact, I've heard that it can make them more noticeable.  It's probably a wait and see type of thing unless you chose to go forward with having them treated before losing the weight.

I have one... and it looks the same as it did 85 pounds ago.

In my case, HappyT, they look much worse.  I think the fat was covering them up, and they look pretty terrible.  I have already had surgery several years ago to get rid of a really bad one, and now I just have more in the same place. I don't if I will do the surgery again.

Varicose veins are permanent from what I understand....unless you get them zapped with lasers or something.

I have one small one on my thigh, and it has not changed at all, even with over 100 pounds gone...

they are all here, 1 year out. I have to go get them removed, I was waiting to lose all the weight first.
but I am sure they will not return as easily now that I am thin again ;)

p.s.: how does the laser treatment work? is it good / worth it?

in the past I had a few removed with injections by doctors. kind of annoying...

No they won't, sorry. And mine look worse too. I was told not to have treatment until I lost all my weight, being obese increases thier return she said. They are genetic so even thin you can get them. In going to get treatment at goal.

Count me in with the 'they get worse looking' crowd. It sort of goes along with the "would you rather be fat of saggy" dilema we often find ourselves in.

My legs look like road maps, I'm not really thrilled with the looks, but I am so much more active now that it doesn't really matter much to me. Someday I may get plastics, and someday I may get my veins taken care of. But until then, Spanx and leggings are my best friends!

I have had numerous vein stripping done since I was in my twenties.  Yes, it's inherited and being fat does hide them somewhat.  The thinner you get they will be more noticeable and everytime I got my legs stripped eventually more appeared right next to where the ones that were removed were.
I give up at this point!
