Help with before pictures

My camera broke so my husband took my before pictures with his iphone. When he e-mailed them to me he erased them from his phone. The problem is all three pictures downloaded not as a picture file and are a blank white page until you open it with a photo viewing program. Now I have no before pictures. I tried to download them open to OH but it doesn't recongize it. Is there anyway I can fix this so I can share these photos? I am practically computer illiterate and so is my husband. I would appreciate any help I could get because next week I wanted to post before and afters from a month after surgery.

1. browse for the folder where the pics are stored on your pc
2. right click on the pic and rename it (change the extension file to .jpg) ex Img1.jpg
3. once the pic has been renamed, open it and you should be able to view it with out any issues.
4. you should be able to upload the new image to OH w/o any issues
