Someone just repsonded to a link stating u cant fly for a month post op; however, i will have to fly home day 8, the centre knows i will be flying home and others, like me, cant possibly stay one month before going home. Seems to me that blood clots are a possibility - surgery or no surgery.

I flew home 5 days after my surgery as well. You just have to make sure you walk and keep doing some movement so as not to develope clots. I also wore my compression socks, as I tend to swell in ankles when flying.

I flew home from Mexico to Seattle 3 days after surgery. I walked a lot in the hospital and the airports. They also know you'll be flying and will put a blood thinner in your IV most likely.

I flew to Florida 15 days following surgery for the holidays (my surgery was 12/5).  I walked at the airport, and stretched my legs on the airplane.  Not a problem.
