Does food taste different after getting sleeved?

I am 8 weeks out.  Tonight was the first time I had unhealthy food.  Not that I am proud!  I just wanted to try it.

I had two small bites of cake.  I used to love cake before getting sleeved.  Wow!  I've changed.  It was really nasty!

I don't think I will ever try it again!

Interesting how food taste different.

Have you tried anything you used to like, and now it's nasty?

I'm gonna stick to my protein.

I ordered a coffee from Starbucks - and asked for two pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup... Before surgery I would get full sugar flavor!  They made a mistake, and gave me someone else's white chocolate mocha.  Before I would have lovvvved it.
First drink - I knew something was wrong.  It was so sweet.  So I swished my cup around and tried again.  Oh no - I thought I was going to be sick.  I couldn't take it.  I opened the lid and knew right away it wasn't mine.
Before - that would have been awesome.  Now - disgusting.

Wow !!!  Our tastes really do change!  I wonder if it is anything scientific is going on... or are we just not used to junk anymore?

I haven't had many food experiences yet, but one thing I LOVED before surgery was crystal light. Can't stand it now. The only way I'll have any if to enhance the flavor of those syntrax nectar protein drinks, which are bearably tolerable anyway

I think in the very early weeks I had some sensitivity, things like overly sweet or couldn't eat cottage cheese.  Now, it is all back to normal.  Why or why couldn't I detest recreational sugar, lol!

My favorite cereal was Special K with strawberries, so I purchased a box yesterday.  I poured about 1/3 cup with skim milk this morning,  all the time looking forward to it  but  it didn't taste the same.  I had to force myself to eat the whole thing.  Probably won't eat the rest of the box.  Isn't it funny how your tastes change?

I know it doesn't happen to everyone but it certainly happened to me!  I can't stand overly sweet things.  A little splenda in some tea is ok but the tourani syrups YUCK, most of my protein drinks, GROSS!  I'm not complaining though.

Yes, cold water tastes like pennies to me. I have to put crystal light in it. Other things taste wierd too. You have to rediscover what you like to eat. I love zucchini now. Really like salmon. Crave tuna. It's a very odd sensation to have your pallette change so much
