So I had my VSG surgery in November of 2011. So far I have lost about 64 pounds. This surgery has been so good for me! But lately i feel like i can eat more and am not getting full as fast as i use to. This is making me nervous...because i do not want my stomach to keep stretching and go back to the way it was before. I still want to lose about 45 more pounds. Has this happened to anyone? and if so what can i do?

Thanks

It can stretch some, from what I've been told, but never like it was. The stretchiest part of the stomach is gone.

Plus, I hear that over time you are expected to eat slightly more.

Your stomach was extremely swollen from trauma of surgery. That's why it's important to capitalize on the first few months. Your stomach has healed and allowing a bit more food from the beginning. It is not too late! You can still lose with a high protein, low carb diet.

Not streching, maturing.  I noticed a few weeks ago my capacity seemed relentless- started taking a ppi finally and it took care of that.  Protein first is even more critical now :0)

The short answer is YES your sleeve can definitely stretch..... this happens by constant over eating.

The larger the sleeve size..... the more stretchy tissue is retained.

Were talking about human tissue..... not steel.....and even steel stretches.....

The key for long term weight control and long term restriction is to "Under Eat" your sleeve capacity.

Try never to eat till your full..... learn to eat fixed/measured amounts of food for satisfaction.

Thanks for the reminder to under eat our sleeve.  I so agree.
