Question about Yogurt
Check out my blog at www.selfimageafterweightloss.com
yogurt was counted as a "solid" for me during that stage. 6 oz is ALOT. I still can only get 4 oz in and I feel STUFFED. I don't count it towards my liquid intake at all. Hope that helps. BTW its ok to throw it away. I know it is hard to throw away perfectly good food but I did today. Ate 4 oz yogurt and threw the other 2oz away. GL!
Gee. I had no problems with a 6 oz container of yogurt, even when I added a packet of protein powder to it -- it was a full liquid on my plan -- a week after surgery. I didn't feel any restriction at all until until I moved to dense proteins.
Same with soups, pureed stuff, shakes, etc.. I could easily get my protein and liquids in then. Now that I'm on solids and trying to get in all my protein without shakes, it's a big challenge.
But if you don't feel comfortable, stop. Then try again later. The important thing is to get your protein and liquids in. Also, my plan didn't call for fresh fruit for a while. Maybe try it without the fruit -- or mix the yogurt (Greek, no fat, plain) with flavored protein powder, and split that into two servings. It boosts the protein, and makes the yogurt quite tasty.
Also, I find Fage brand to not be as tart, so mixing it with sweet proteins powder (like Syntrax chocolate truffle) is one of my favorites!
Good luck on your journey!

Ooooh. I haven't tried mixing my Fage with the chocolate truffle yet. That sounds yummy and I happen to have both on hand. Thanks for the idea.
After reading everyone else posts it concerns me that I CAN eat 6 oz of yogurt in one sitting. it does take me a while to do it but its so much like a liquid, my sleeved stomach doesn't have any resistance. if I drink water or any liquid too quickly I will get a stomach ache and feel the restriction, but 6 oz of yogurt over 20-30 min, no problem, I hope that isn't indicative of a future problem. I'm not going to worry about that right now though.
I think Muttlover and myself have just about the same restrictions and body responses with liquids, full liquids, and solids. Even though I'm on solids, protein shakes will still be a stop gap to ensure I get >100 G protein a day.
