Well, here I am sitting in the hospital sleeved. I am having a lot of pain on my left side , all the way up to my shoulder. I know this is gas pain, I have been walking a lot but the ts not helping. Doc said that should go away by tomorrow. Other than that, that is the only thing causing Mr discomfort. I got a little sick last night after they gave me the pain meds. I just did the upper GI leak test and passed. That drink stuff is worse than tequilla! Its hortible but surprisingly, I was able to stomach it. So they said everything looks good with the test so now I can have juice and water.. I'm glad for that because I feel starving. Other than all that I feel OK.

I'm 11 days post op and the most remarkable thing to me was that every single day I felt MUCH better than the previous day! In fact, by day 6 I could honestly say I had NO pain - NO discomfort at all!

No, I didn't have any gas pains nor did I have any nausea!

I was really blessed.

Day 1 is the hardest and it seems you faired well, congratulations!  Do try to walk as much as you comfortably can- that helps immensely with the gas pain.  It took me a few days to be rid of that.  By day 7 you will be shocked at how much better you feel!  I am surprised about the hunger and wonder if you may have some acid issues going on, which can mimic hunger.  Be sure to take it easy with an acidic stuff like orange juice and such.  Also perhaps ask the doc about an acid reducer and if it may be appropriate for you.  You will be home before you know it!
