I think I'm gonna make it
The early goal, that is. I am only on post op day two but was told by my surgeon to get 70 grams of protein and a minimum 64 oz of fluids. The shakes count toward the 64 oz. I was afraid I wouldn't come close but I've been sipping all day on different shakes, and I'm proud to say I'll have 80 grams of protein and meet the fluid intake too.
Who knows what will happen tomorrow, but for today, I worked my sleeve and did what I was told to do.
besides I'm hoping to rid the 7 lbs I gained during hospitalization quickly and I know you have to drink water to shed water.
The first few days are the hardest, and you are doing a splendid job! Congrats and welcome to the loser's bench!

I take water to bed with me. I also have a 24oz Tervis cup I take to work. 2 of those, 2 protein shakes, my night time water, and the glass of tea I have upon waking, and the glass I drink back and forth to work, usually does the trick.
Protein: The 2 shakes are 50gm total, depend on diet to get the rest. Usually average 70gm of protein. It's a chore! I definately cannot get away with eating willy nilly here and there like I did pre sleeve. To fit it all in, proteins have to come first!
Now to get past my TOM, (1st one post surgery) and get this scale moving again....

Yes, one thing I learned from these fine folks here...Have a plan for everything!!! Failing to plan is planning to fail.
Plus, I was somewhat suprised to find that not being precise about weighing and measuring had me spending too much slimy toilet time after over doing it. I expected it to be like it was w the band...knowing exactly when my soft stop was. The sleeve actually lets me mess up before doling out the punishment! I learned quickly to develop a routine, knowing how much to portion out.
