clothing exchange
To the best of my knowledge, it's where people come together and bring their old clothes and exchange them for smaller sizes. My Dr.'s office has a clothing rack wher you can bring clothes in and if you see something you like and it fits, you just ake it. No cost.
I have heard wher neighborhoods have done this, churches, and other local organizations have it. Me, personally, I am going to sell my old "fat" girl clothes on eBay and use the money to buy new clothes. I don't have a lucrative career so I got to pinch pennies when I can. Hope that helps!
I have never seen or heard of one in my area. Having said that, I love goodwill. I have said it on this forum so many times and I hope others have found it helpful. I went from size 18 and 1-2xl shirts to sizes xsmall and small shirts to 0-2 in pants. Every size I found at goodwill and thrift shops. Prices - shirt $3.50, jeans $5, pants $4-5, coat $6, dress $5, bra $2, shorts $3.50, pj's $1.50. Every week they have an assortment of items that are 50% off. My local stores and I have 4 stores within 20 miles of my house, are open till 8pm weekdays and Sunday till 6pm. If you find a better deal than this, let me know. Shop often and only buy what you love and next thing you know you will have a closet full of wonderful name brand items. The first time you go you might find a treasure trove and will be tempted to buy too much. But there have been days I go and only find one shirt I think I just have to have. Happy shopping.
