As many of you know, I've been a Whiney brat b/c I've been in an almost 5 month stall..

restricting to 500-600 cals a day and still not budging...went off the rails for the Easter break..

I was just SOOO frustrated ( an excuse I know) but back on the horse now..

as I was reading the post by MichelleBrad below it occurred to me, I do not eat early..

my eating goes like this..

up at 7 take my vitamins and PPI,

then start my first 6 cups of water..

I do not have anything until 10:30-11:00

and then that's a protein tea..

do you think that's been my problem, that I need to have my protein tea by 7:30-8 am?

I was told that you shouldn't eat within 1/2 hr to an hour of taking a PPI

and that's why I don't have anything..

an I also tend to get hungry more towards late afternoon, evening..

I have not heard that rule on the 30 minutes to hour of taking a PPI.  You have indicated how many calories you are eating which is great that you can do that almost a year out but how much protein are you getting each day?  This far out make sure you are eating at least 60 - 80 grams of protein a day, aiming more towards at least 80.  I find that if I eat the dense protein, I don't want the other stuff.  Also are you only drinking 6 cups of water and then a protein tea?  If so, you should try to up your liquid intake.  I know my liquid intake is my downfall but you need to strife for more.  Your body may slightly on the dehydrated side.

I second the question abou****er - are you only getting 48 ounces plus a tea in every day?  That seems pretty low to me!

What sorts of foods are you eating?

I eat low carb...

80++ grams of protein a day

and a gallon of water a day..

I mostly eat chicken, fish, tuna, deli ham or turkey or eggs

w/sides of brocoli, asaparagas or spinach if I have room

I'm going to try having a yogurt first thing in the AM b/c maybe that will rev up my metabolism..

as for my PPI it says it right on the bottle.. take 30-60 min.before breakfast..

I'm on prescription Omerprozole

Aah!  So your "six cups" aren't 8 ounce cups, that sounds much better!

I'm on Nexium, which I think is omerprozole, and it says the same thing.  I also wait 30-60 minutes before eating after taking it.

FWIW, I've read that drinking a glass of water when you first get up helps start up your body and rev your metabolism. Also I eat my first serving of protein within 30 minutes of waking up. I still struggle at times with late afternoon and evening cravings, but when I'm honest with myself those usually occur when my carb consumption has been higher.

When I was taking my ppi this is what I did. Wake up take my ppi and get in the shower. I was told we should be getting in bkfst within 30 of waking. I make my bkfst shake & have that while getting ready for my day. Maybe getting your metabolism working earlier will help t

I read a book on mending your metabolism and it compared the metabolism to a fire.  Put all the fuel on at once and it will burn hot, bright, and burn out quick.  Add a little fuel all day long for a slow and steady burn.  This idea worked brilliantly for me.  Try eating small amounts all day long- 6 times a day.
