Hi Gwenmo,

This is a great list, you must enjoy cooking!. But how do you know how to count these things? And I assume if the recipe calls for rice you skip that part?

I assume I'll learn stuff like this in NUT class but that is still 10 days away!

I do love cooking :)

I don't track calories, but I made sure when eating stuff like curry to pick out the chicken pieces and then just add enough sauce so it would blend. I was only eating two ounces at a time and still drinking two shakes a day, so I knew I was making my protein goal which was all my plan cares about.

And, yes, I'd skip the rice, pasta, other carbs in my pureed portions. :)

thanks for all the great recipes...so we would just take our portion and puree it?...and puree is just a little chunkier then like a cream soup?

Not chunkier, but thicker. Purée shouldn't have chunks in it. I would take out about a cup of food from whatever I cooked and purée that. Then I'd portion out my two ounces and save the rest in a small Tupperware for another meal :)

A mild chili would be super yummy! You could do all beans, or throw in some ground turkey! One of my favorite meals ever. I'm still waiting for my surgery (happening on monday) but I'm sure pureed chili could be delicious. Also, my doctor said broccoli cheddar soup is super good too. Pretty much any soup could be good pureed! Good luck!!!

A quick meal for the "mush stage" I took some Dinty Moore Stew and blended it.  Next meal I put it on a 1/4 cup of warm mashed potatoes.
