I love the OP's comparison of your weight loss to the size of a turkey -- seriously, 30 lbs. is a LOT! Trying picking up a 30 lb. toddler and running up and down the stairs a couple times. You'll gain a whole new appreciation of just how HEAVY 30 lbs. is!
