Need help with eating
I was sleeved on 10/29 and just started puréed foods and it really is going bad. No matter what I try to eat it hurts gaining all the way down. Like the center of my chest is going to pop. I am really scared that the only way I am going to be able to get protein is to drink it. And I am never going to be able to eat again. I could really us some advice because from some veterans and how you made it through this.
My doctor's advice always was "if it's hurting or causing problems then go back a step". Make sure you are taking teeny-tiny bites and not swallowing a lot of air at the same time. If you have to go back to protein shakes for a few days, so be it.
But believe me - this too shall pass. With time you will be able to eat normal food and it won't hurt. It just takes longer for some people than others. It took my husband a whole lot longer than me to advance his diet.
I was sleeved on the 24th and I have had no issues with getting stuff down. With tha being said what about starting off with egg drop soup, lentil soup or a soft boiled egg. You can unflavored protein powder to the soup. Cottage cheese in the blender is great too.........great source of protein as well. Good luck to you, I hope you find what works.
I feel like this when I am taking bites that are too big, eating too fast or not chewing well enough.

I can relate. It seems like every food I try causes some issue on the first try. The next try in a day or two seems fine. The only exception to this has been string cheese which I haven't been able to have, yet.
No don't sweat it and try it again in a day or two. Did you have any issues with yogurt or jello during the full liquids phase?
How are you pureeing your food? What, exactly, are you eating?

Eggs can be tricky even several months after surgery, let alone in the pureed phase. If you're eating them scrambled, that could cause a problem.
You might want to stick to foods that you aren't having problems with right now, and try introducing things a little later. Have you checked out the ideas on Eggface's page about pureed food? The Ricotta Bake was a lifesaver for me.
