I am now 7 months post op and today I saw a cardiologist for the first time.  Both of my parents had by pass operations in their 70's and one brother had a bypass at age 56.  I am almost 52.

I always dreaded a stress test because of the treadmill.  Today, no problem.  They had to get the slope pretty high and the speed at 3.5 mph to get my heart rate up for the test.

They also did a circulation test on the extremeties.  They put blood pressure type cuffs around your upper arms, thighs and ankles and then test for the heart beat.

He said my heart looks good under stress and the extremeties test looked good.

For exercising, he said I could get my heart rate up to 170 with no problem.

It feels good to have my health back under control.  Just 7 months ago, that was far from the case.

Thanks everyone.  He was pretty impressed with my results.  He was familiar with the sleeve but hadn't any patients until me with one.  He said the patients that had the lap band usually lost very little weight.
