I am so surprised everyone is saying that because my doctor told me that I I should have zero issue with GERD

As with everything, everyone has their own unique experience. I had the band, lost weight only because I vomited so often. Protein, fruits & veggies never went down, was hungry all the time, regained from subsisting on what did go down-crap, crap, & some more crap. When I did eat protein, the "stuck" feeling was agonizingly painful. Finally had it removed 4 years later. I had such bad reflux, & vomiting, my ent said he never saw such a bad case of tonsilltis in the lower tonsils.

My surgeon waits 3 months in between removal, & vsg , & insurance made me go through 6 month full process again. But, it was worth the wait. No issues so far, experience is night & day. Wish I had done out sooner! I can only explain it as a physical, & physiological change. I feel sated, no more hunger, no more insatiable cravings. Not without challenges, but i find them manageable. I was also at a do or die point prior to surgery, I knew this was my last stop on the healthy chance express. I'm working on changing my mindset every day-pushing myself physically...

Good luck with your decision!
