I am 31 weeks preg and 11 months post op and just cant eat well at all. I have been on TPN (Total Parentral Nutriton) which is given 24 hours a day through a central line for over 1 month now because I am so malnurished. Im not able to eat well but want to know will I still lose weight after the baby is born.
Anyone get pregnant during there first year out?

A central line? I'm sorry you're going through that! I can definitely see why my surgeon hammers home the 18 months out requirement before you can get pregnant. I feel for you! I hope some people on the pregnancy board can help!

Temporarily holding on losing more because I'm gaining!  Pregnant with my first baby (a boy!) due June 2013, after two rounds of IVF.  SO GRATEFUL!

Yes, check out the pregnancy board and do whatever you must to not be in ketosis. Ketosis can cause irreparable brain damage that might not be evident until the child is school age.

Your ultimate weight loss does not matter at this point. It is your child you must think about.

And let this be a warning to everyone else. DO NOT become pregnant until you are 18-24 months out and/or have lost all of your weight.

I got pregnant 14 months out and while I had some complications, we're both alive and well now and that's what matters.

But.

At no point did the thought EVER cross my mind - "Will I lose more weight once she's here?"

You need to seriously re-evaluate your priorities, for the sake of your child. Concentrate on taking care of you NOW so you can take care of that baby FOREVER.

I hope things get better for you. Good luck.

I agree.  I always find myself getting ready to click the "like" button on here only to be thwarted every time!
