FIRST FILL - WHY LIQUIDS??

I had my first fill today.  I had an empty band and got 2cc's because I didn't want to take a chance on getting sick like I was in the beginning. But why clear liquids??? It's just a fill, no cutting etc? I am wondering why full liquids tomorrow, and muchies the next day??? PL Spiky

Well I don't have to do clear liquids but I do have to do liquids for a day or 2 and then mushies for a few days after a fill. It is because the fill irritates the stomach around the band and it takes a few days for it to calm back down. It also can take anywhere from a couple of days to 2 weeks for a fill to "kick in". It can also take several fills before you feel much restriction. So be patient!
