For 8.5 years....
I've been a carbo-phobe.
When I'm being "good" ( a whole 'nother emotional problem not to be addressed here) I would take in less than 40 carbs per day. I NEVER ate yogurt (17-22 carbs in one thingie- no way) bread, cereal, My only carbs came from veggies- not even fruit.
As you could figure- I usually screwed up and then would nosh on crappy sugar carbs, candy etc.
Today I decided to be honest and added Cheez-Its to my food log. WOW!
For 27 crackers- definitely enough to satisfy:
150 Kcal
8 g fat
17 g carbs (less than yogurt!)
3 g Pro
Looks like they can go to the OK foods! I can eat them, not feel like I failed. I won't have the excuse to give up for the day!

The secret of all of this is to find foods that satisfy you without violating your rules. I cannot eat anything or most things and stay at my goal. It has been a journey of sucess, failure, substitutions, trial and error.
27 Cheeze-Its would be a serving to me and I would have servings until the box was quickly emptied. Any form of cracker is a trigger to me, so I can't start them. I am glad that you are able to enjoy and be satisfied with 27.

Me too.The box gets opened, forgotten, and then... "There's Cheez-Its in the cabinet --" and they call to me. Soon, I've had a handful 8549205849054 times and the box is gone. Who does that to yogurt? ;) Okay, I do it to cheese. I have a problem with cheese.
Um...I do that to yogurt.
And pretzles...
I feel your pain and your joy!
I am a night eater and have insomnia. What I have worked out is keeping a box of Triscuits on the other side of the house in the basement, going downstairs to get 3 of them, taking them back to bed, and nibbling them very slowly while drinking lots of Sobe water and posting on OH. Working so far for many a month. I have a very tolerant husband who sleeps like a log.
What we have to do!
Thanks for being such an inspiration to me, and not about the crackers, neither.

Mr. does that.
He's been a night-eater... since birth.
He will get up in a daze, mindlessly shuffle through crackers/cookies/anything ... grab a few and nibble back to bed. This is particularly bad if he's stressed OR dieting - it leads to OMGFEEDME in the middle of the night -- and we all know what happens to those calories. They never happened. ;)
