RNY on 02/21/12 with
I had revision from slipped lap-band to RNY with hiatal hernia repair done Tuesday. I am having a horrible reaction to the dermabond they used on my incisions. My belly is swollen and red(almost purple) and the incisions are weeping. I am in so much discomfort. I feel like my skin is going to rip open.

I met with dermatology before discharge and they prescribed a steroid cream to use on the skins surrounding the incisions but not on them directly. It does nothing. The IV Benadryl helped me sleep through the discomfort but the oral benadryl does nothing.

Please tell me someone out there has been through this and has a solution.

I am desperate.

Go to an urgent care center or ER. I hope they can prescribe you something ASAP that makes you feel better. Let us know how you're doing, okay?

I would think that you might need to up your dose of benadryl. Call you Dr. and explain to him what you have told us and ask him about it. Call now. You don't need to be miserable all night!

Good luck!

Do not get off the phone until someone gives you medicine to feel better. That sounds miserable.
