4 days post op - questions

I am still in a lot of pain but the Tylenol 3 and heating pad seems to be keeping that at bay.  I am scared to eat and drink - not sure what will happen if I overdo it.  I did get down a 35 gram 11 ounce protein drink so far today and a little water.  How will I know if I am overdoing it?  It is normal to still be in pain?  I tried walking last night...made it about 50 yards and will do more tonight.  I want to be back up to a mile by the end of the week but that may be overkill.

Yes pain at 3 days is normal.  The levels vary person-to-person.  Don't worry about overdoing it with liquids, keep sipping to remain hydrated.  You do NOT want to become dehydrated if you can prevent it from happening.

One mile a week out seems aggressive although this too would vary by person.

Your body will tell you if you overdo it.... Sip sip sip all day long. Liquids wont hurt you st this stage dont gulp, gulping will not feel nice.

64oz of liquids is your goal, so keep drinking anything wet (and decaf)
