Official 1 week post-op doctor visit.
Today, I went to my 1 week post-op appointment a little nervous. Why? I do not know. I have been a little frustrated lately because I have not felt like I was doing Phase I properly. I wasn't in a ton of pain and nauseous like my wife was 5 years ago. My insulin was causing lows throughout the last couple days. And the worst part is that I had the get-up-and-go, but once I was gone, i didn't feel like myself. Only a little muscular pain and some tenderness around the incisions remain, and I felt like a lazy slob for not helping out around the house, especially when on my first weekend, my wife had a yard sale with my inlaws and kids. Frustration barely scratches the surface.
So I am thinking about all the questions that I have, and in walks my surgeon's associate, a very nice man whom I have met with before. Looks at my chart, looks at my belly, and says it looks great! Asks me how I feel. I told him how I walk a few miles a day, not laying around maybe like I should, but I am active. He seems a little shocked, but when I tell him about my concerns about having the urge to go and do but no energy doing it, he chuckles and tells me how I just had major abdominal surgery and my body is adjusting. Once i start Phase II, and take my vitamins I am going to do fantastic. I guess this has all been a mental block, and I had to be brought back into the moment. So, lesson learned...
I'm still getting past the fact of no more waiting on insurance approval...lol!
Oh, and I am down 16.6 POUNDS!!!
