Sour Stomach

I am 8 years out RYN.  Trying to eat really clean, anti-inflammatory diet.  No grain, small amount of whole organic milk in my coffee. No sugar. No artificial sweeteners.   Not sure why my stomach feels so sour, I used to eat peanut butter crackers to just put something soothing in my tummy.  I don't eat those now.  Any ideas?    I was taking Tumeric supplements but stopped since they may be making my stomach feel icky.  Anyway open to what anyone else has tried to sooth the stomach.  Tums aren't working..

Are you taking a PPI like Prilosec or Nexium?  Have you had your stomach acid checked at all?

How do you have your stomach acid checked?

The Heidelberg Stomach Acid Test - it involves fasting, swallowing a transmitter, and some other stuff.

It can be check with endoscope.  Too much acid causes iritation of the lining, esophagus, etc.

Coffee, milk - can cause that. Also - some foods you are eating - you may be allergic to or your body has problem digesting.  So it is just sitting there.

Sometimes when we think we are eating healthy food - it may not be so.

Once I added a daily probiotic, my sour stomach issues went away .... Took about 2 weeks of daily usage and now I just continue 1 per day.

I use the Walgreens brand that matches Align
