which one did you do and for how long, i have to do two weeks of liquid.  i noticed some do all liquids, some are allowed one meal, some are on low carb.

btw, how much did you lose on your preop surgical diet?

Every surgeon/program has different requirements.  Because my BMI was so high, I was required to do a four week preop diet.  It consisted of liquid protein beverages and one meal a day - consisting of protein and vegetables.  I lost 27 lbs.  I started two weeks earlier than my surgeon required because I was afraid that my liver would not shrink enough for the surgeon to perform surgery.  The fear of that failure kept me adherent to the plan.

We were told two weeks of 1000 calories of real food, low sugar, low fat, high protein. I don't do low fat so I ignored that part (sorry, "low fat spread" is not a "healthy fat") but I was slavish about the 1000 calories and protein goals. I lost 13lbs.
