This evening was the first time that I have been extremely pissed off since I started my weight loss journey, and nothing went into my mouth that had not already been logged. Maybe I am getting some control over this emotional eating.

My original surgery was scheduled for Feb 23rd.  My first day to work after getting my date I learned that 2 of the 4 people in my department wanted off the same week of my surgery.  One of them had put in for her vacation ready, the other one had not yet filled out the vacation slip, but was going to a State Dart Tournament.  I have seniority so if I would have filled out my paperwork, her vacation would have been denied.  So being the nice person I am, I called and had my surgery postponed to the next available date which was March 13 (5 weeks out).

My co-worker texted me tonight to let me know that she was not going to need me to cover for her the weekend of Feb 24th, because supposedly her entry form and money never made it to wherever she mailed them (I don't believe that for a second).

I was / am so mad that I didn't even answer her, because I had absolutely nothing nice to say to her.

I have an appointment tomorrow in the same office as my surgeon so I am going to see if by chance my first date is still open...not holding my breath...or if they have maybe had a cancellation.

Don't get mad.  Calm down and remember with this journey you need to put yourself first.  So give yourself a tiny swift kick in your soon to be deflated toosh and keep your focus.  Maybe you can get your old surgery spot back...maybe not, but just consider all of this as part of the learning process with your journey.

I hope you get the earlier day.  If not, Use that 5 weeks to your advantage.  The healthier you go into surgery, the healthier you come out of it. IMHO. concentrate on being mobile..  Walk or, if that is difficult, ask for some PT and use those sitting steppers.

Other people will always let you down at some point or another.  Sometimes it is just that they are selfish, inconsiderate, or just unaware.  Sometimes things just don't work out.  I would be unhappy too.  Regardless, you took the high ground in the previous episode, and that reflects well on you, regardless of how things played out.

You took the high ground, don't go low now.  Everything happens for a reason.  My grandmother was immigrating from Ireland in 1912.  She was so excited to be traveling on a beautiful new luxury liner.

The day of departure she got very sick and they refused to let her board the ship.  A week later she sailed on another ship, but the one that she missed was the Titanic.

Awesome story of your grandmother.  I guess sometimes things don't work out the way we want them to, but they work out the way they are supposed to.

After I posted earlier, I recalled this song.  It is by one of my favorite bluegrass groups.  They combine humor and truth - my kind of people.
