Thought this was interesting, especially the changes in caloric expenditure...

My personal trainer recently changed my work-out. He said less is more. It doesnt feel like less. It is more intense (circuit training) but it is less time spent.

Previously I did 20 minutes in the recumbent and then 20 minutes on the elliptical. then we did weights. The weights would be 3 sets of 15 on each machine for whatever body part I was working like legs or arms or core. I was there a total of 90 minutes

Now it is 40 minutes on the elliptical. 30 minutes---but less reps and on the bike pedaling as hard and fast as I can for a minute in between each rep. I sweat like a beast. I am done in 70 minutes.

The same thing at the pool. Now we do our aerobics with the weights instead of aerobics and then weights.

I do enjoy the change up.

I guess it's a good thing that these trainers are constantly learning new things.

hugs,

Sharon
