Two Year Surgiversary Date! **PICTURES FIXED**!

Thank you :) My sister & I get told constantly by our very large extended family that they can't believe how much we look alike now. We occasionally used to get told that our smiles looked alike. I think one of the funniest & best feelings was when I saw an old "ex" family member. There was a funeral & a woman, ironically named Lisa, who had previously married into the family, but later divorced my uncle a few years ago, attended. Her daughter, my cousin, pointed me out to her - the "ex" Aunt had no idea that I had had WLS. Lisa came up to me & told me about their conversation, which went like:

Cousin: "Mom, look! That's Lisa"
Cousin's Mom, looking: "No, it isn't", shakes her head.
Cousin: "Yes, it is mom! That's Lisa"
Cousin's Mom does double take, pauses a moment & says, "No it isn't.", shakes her head.
Cousin, exasperated now: "Mom, yes it is Lisa. Go talk to her!"
Cousin's Mom does so & relays this funny conversation. That made me feel good!!!

Really amazing Lisey! You have an awesome smile, and you look extremely happy. Social freedom... I don't even know what that would be like since I've always been big, but I kind of know what you are saying. I have a feeling it's gonna be a shock for me.

Thank you so much! It is different. I went through a period in which I was rather angry & resentful - why should anyone treat me any differently just based on how I look? I'm the same person, dammit . . . but, then I realized the only person suffering was me walking around with all of those negative emotions. You just accept it in the long run. We can't change how other people are, only ourselves.
