Can I open capsules? I just picked up my antibiotic and it's in capsule form.

I just don't have the strength in me to take it back, let alone find someone at this hour to get me something different. (My Mom works at the pharmacy, she said I could get it in liquid but that's the only other option.)

So can I just open the capsule and put it in some applesauce or peanut butter or something? Has anyone done this?

Why can't you take a capsule?

I suppose you could put it applesauce but beware of the taste.

I'm not sure I understand WHY you want to break them open and pour out the contents?!?  I take CAPSULES frequently...even my CALCIUM, and IRON are capsule form (from Vitalady).   Hope you feel better soon.

What's wrong with a capsule??  You will actually absorb it better than a tablet due to our limited transit time...

Oh ok! The way it was coated is what made me think that. I will just take them then. I have capsules from VitaLady, too. Don't mind me, I'm functioning at 25% capacity I think.

Sorry!

It's what's inside that matters, not the coating per say.  The gel capsule coating isn't a problem, it's if the medicine inside is in a oil base.  The only coating we can potentially have issues with are the ones that are time released, but, that's not the case with AB's.  No worries hun...  I hope you feel better!
