I had my pre-surgical appointment yesterday, and I asked him How much excess weight should l expect to lose and he told me 60 - 65% by 18 months.  That didn't sound right to me maybe he see that with his other procedures that he does? 

well I will make a couple of assumptions, the question is around the DS ewl?  if that is the case, then yes you are right, that % is not the "average"  DS has the highest ewl, and most durable, long lasting of all current wls.  the surgeon may be taking the average in his practice overall of all the procedures he does?  as more specific questions next consult....
