I am SWITCHED!!!!

Here I am! Back from CA and doing FABULOUS! I had surgery Aug. 29th, discharged on the 31st, j-tubes out on the 2nd and home on the 6th.

I have been off all pain meds for 4 days and had only been taking 1/2 a pill 2 X's a day for the preceding 2 days! The more you walk the better you'll feel. I walked figure 8's in the hotel room. Listen to the vets! Their advice made all the difference for me!
What I notice now is : I actually feel real hunger. No questions about it.
I actually feel undeniable fullness! This is new!
I am so happy. I've been so, completely tired of my weight impacting my life negatively. Now it will be positive and I'm ever grateful to 2 specific people here on these boards. JJ the Jet Plane and Diana Cox. Because of their help I found my way to Dr. Keshishian and my DS. I promise to pay it forward too.

Congratulations!!! Glad to hear you are doing so well.  Listen to the vets and you will do fine.

Remember to rest and sip and walk.

Good for you!

A word of caution though, having your JTube out so quickly is both a blessing and a curse.  I had mine left in for four WEEKS so I could do 3xdaily 'thin' whey protein drinks directly into my gut.  Your body has a store of protein.. but if you are having trouble eating anything for a while it could become a problem.

I'm not saying anything is, or could be wrong, just something to be aware of.

Good luck,
Justin

Thanks all!
I had an open DS because of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy a long time ago. Possibly too many adhesion's for Lap
. If anyone else needs open, for what ever reason, just know that it's not that bad!

It sounds like you are doing just great.    The hunger, the undeniable fullness?  Isn't it wonderful?

Hi
congratulations. How did Dr. K. let you go home with no j-tube. He would not let me come back to NYC without the J-tube. I Had to have it in for 6-weeks. i am so glad it is out.
