Got the call from my surgery group that my insurance is approved and my consult is July 16, I was disappointed but my surgeon will be on vacation in July. After the consult, my surgery should be  around mid August. I was hoping to get the surgery before school started but this has been a year coming and I am beyond happy. I cried when I got off the phone. My husband has stage IV bone cancer and I am praying he will be with me to complete this journey we started together last June and we are able to do all the things we have put off because of my weight and limited mobility. He is my biggest supporter and has been my rock thru all the ups and downs this past year.

I changed surgeons, hospitals and fought the insurance co. for almost a year to get the DS, and I am at peace with the decisions I have made.  I am praying I can improve my life and get on track for a healthy future.

Yipee!!! I am on my way!!!!!

Congrats!!!  I'm right there with you!!!  I just got my approval on Wednesday.

That is some GREAT news. I am so sorry about your husband's cancer. I pray that he will be with you til the end of the journey too.

 I got my approval letter yesterday! It has been 4 years in the making, my fight was with myself though, not insurance companies. I'm sure it's amazing to have such a strong support in your husband. My prayers are with you both!

I have been  thrilled about my D.S. since pre surgery . It was the best decision i ever made. Wish I had found out about it years ago !!!!
