6 month Labs

What was normal is now abnormal and what was abnormal is now normal.

HGB A1C 3.8 range 4.5-5.7. 

HCT 33.6 range 34-48

HGB 11.0 range 12-18

RBC 3.57 range 3.99-6.01

Ferritin, serum 4.0 range 15-150

Alkaline phosphatase, s 118 range 39-117

Bilirubin, total 1.4 range 0.0-1.2

BUN/Creatinine ratio 32 range 9-23

Vitamin b12 1262 range 211-946

My surgery was 5/14/13 I get my labs every 6 months until they stabilize.

What is your total iron level?

your h&h are a little low....you're a bit anemic. You should see a hematologist.

your ferritin is really really low.

The iron stuff is the only thing that jumps out at me too (HCT,HGB,Ferritin). Are you taking any iron supplements? Except for the Ferritin the numbers are pretty close and may not raise a flag for your Doc.

No concern about the high B12 it just washes out. 

Any issues with low blood sugar? I'm coming in at about 4.0 and my endocrinologist 
just has me on the lookout for issues but none yet.

I assume there is other blood work? I would like to see more comprehensive blood work at 6 months.  Post the rest of your blood work,  you are missing some very important markers, but with what you have posted you need iron infusions, you are beyond oral, if indeed your ferritin is 4,  ferritin,

I assume there is other blood work? I would like to see more comprehensive blood work at 6 months.  Post the rest of your blood work,  you are missing some very important markers, but with what you have posted you need iron infusions, you are beyond oral, if indeed your ferritin is 4,  ferritin, less than 12 is virtually diagnostic of iron deficiency ask your pcp for iron infusions or go to a hem/onc.  VB12 looks good, not going to hurt, there is no documented case of VB12 toxicity, keep taking what you are taking.  Alkphos typical to start increasing with DS, most likely due to bone issues, as alkphos is a general enzyme and encompases many organs.  Keep your eye on your t-bili and bun/creat.  Keep diligent with having the correct blood work to avoid possible deficiencies in the future.
