I am excited to report that my insurance has approved me for a revision to my revision of my Deuodenal Switch. My common channel was originally too short(so I malnourished), now it's too long(so I am gaining weight excessively).

Surgery is scheduled for July 27th to shorten the length of my common channel.

I am so excited - my prayers have been answered.

I have the support of my primary care, endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, and bariatric doctors.

Thanks for your information and support on this forum.

I'm in the process of getting medically cleared. I will keep you all posted as I embark on this new journey.

I have been given a second chance. ??

Is your ticker correct? You might want to update it. Because surely you aren't getting revised for 30 pounds of regain?

Can I ask who carries your medical insurance? You have awesome coverage.

Thanks Pete: I am hopeful that this will resolve the issue. It truly has been a hard journey and a learning experience. I'm much more knowledgeable about my tool, healthy eating habits and the management of my potential for vitamin and protein deficiency.

If the end result allows me to reach my goal weight again it was well worth the journey.

That's great news. Now, going forward, do you know all that you must do to keep from getting malnourished in the future? It can happen again if you're not vigilant from the very start.

Thanks Valerie. You're absolutely correct about being vigilant from the start. While I admit I probably don't know everything I need to know to prevent malnutrition, I am fully engaged and committed to staying health post-op.

I welcome the guidance and support of any and all knowledgeable bariatric resources as I embark on this new journey.

I wish I had made your acquaintance at the beginning of my original journey. For so long, I thought my struggle was unique.

Congrats on this journey. I wanted to to ask what was the wait period for your revision approval. Is it like 6 months of testing and monitoring before your doctor submitted pertinent info for a revision?
