Have you seen a doctor about this? What do they say?

No one I know personally. You might try putting "fistula" in the search bar and see what's dredged up.

The weight gain is normal, usually 15-20% of you excess weight loss. That's why many try to get below goal the first year, knowing that bounce will happen. You can fight it or be mindful and let your body find it's comfy spot. I'm 12 years out and maintain effortlessly after allowing a 14 percent bump.

So, probably not related.

I had a fistula maybe a year and a half post-op. I tried every which way to get the Doc
to say caused by the DS ( it was a phase for me that everything had to be related to the DS ) but
none of them would. Age and bad luck. I had the area drained several times and finally had to go
to a ColoRectal guy for surgery. Surgery was a great relief. Lots of pus build up before they got to that point
so had to be drained several times.

Don't wait. It had something to do ( for me ) with a hair follicle getting stuck under the skin somehow and causing an infection leading to the fistula.
