I posted this morning  on the main messageboard that I was going to be running a 5K today. I DID IT!  It was a cross country course so it had lots of hills and many parts of the path were sand or grass clippings. Some areas were gravel, and that was nice. It was harder than running my normal 3 miles on a flat, shaded path. There was no shade- it was more of a huge field area with hills. It was about 90 degrees.  I finished 2nd for my age category, 35-39. But, I was pretty slow over all. Only 3 people finished after me, and about 120 before me. My time was 43:30.  I'm just happy to have done it.

I'm racing in a road race 5K on Sept. 30th. I think it will be much easier than the cross country.  It takes me aout 30 min. to run my 3 miles 3 days a week, which I know is still slow, but, that's faster than the XC5K! I am aiming to have a time no higher than 33:00
