I ran a nice and steady 3 miles this morning with a short walk break after a nice little hill.  The car on the side of the road in the pitch dark with the dome light on and nobody around freaked me out a bit but nobody murdered me so that's good!

I'm thinking that I might sign up for the half at Disney.  I wasn't going to but it might make my training a bit more focused and consistant.  Well see.

What did you do today?

Nice little run/walk workout this morning.  Walked 1.5 miles then ran 1.5 miles then walked another 3/4 mile to cool down.  Need to hit the gym later to do weights.

Ran the Pro Bono 5k this morning. It was cold and tough on the lungs. I came in 4th in my age group and I was disappointed. Don't know when that start. I used to just get thrilled with finishing a race. For some reason today I come in 4th place, behind the 3rd place guy by 20 seconds, and I'm dissecting the whole race to figure out where I could have picked up that extra 30 seconds. Man, I just need to get back to the thrill of running for the thrill of it. Eight years ago, I couldn't have envisioned even signing up for one of these races. Times change.

Ran a beautiful 13.1 with my 14 year old son this monring in Rhinebeck,NY.  Mike Richter was the celebrity runner for you hockey fans.  It was my son's first.  My daughter and other son ran the 5k.  I am so proud of my kids, makes this all so worth it. My son ran it in just under 3 hours, and he had never run more than 6 before - how amazing is that?

As far as my run, it was a hilly challenge, and I fell apart completely in the second half of it.  My hamstrings really need to beef up for these kinds of runs with monster hills.  Losing some of the weight I have put on would help too.  I have a lot of work to do to get ready for Goofy.

Ran a 5k today, first time putting on the running shoes since last Sunday's marathon. Could still feel the burn.  Felt good to move though - time to get back to training.  Goofy is on the horizon!
