I had my lap band removed in Oct. 3024. This was not my decision, my band had eroded. I have gained about 45 lbs back in the last 4 yrs. I am so depressed over this and I am making my family miserable. If could lose the weight O would be happier. This has even caused me anxiety. My doctor has recommended me taking a antidepressant to feel better again. I need advice from anyone who had are is taking one thst will not make me bigger bUT male feel better. Also which diet to follow Weigh****chers,  low carb etc. I am about to go crazy over this.

This may not be the best board for this question.  Before surgery, I had my best luck with weigh****chers long term.  It was the only diet where I lost weight and then did not gain it all back and more.  I lost 60 lbs and gained back 40 which is better than when I was on Atkins when I losted 70 and gained back 90.  Now, that is not necessarily Atkins' fault.

Surgery Date 04-22-14 HW 2011 388(lost 60lbs on WW, regained 40) Surgery Consult Weight 1/10/14 - 367 SW 357 - CW 9/15 210.

I can relate to your concerns that are causing you anxiety. I have regained some weight and I am freaking out, not sleeping, having back pain, slipping into old eating habits. I have asked for others help (tonight) as a matter of fact on this site. My doctor at one time told me that all of the diets work, but we have to FOREVER do them; otherwise, the weight comes back. Is it possible for you to seek help from the nutritionist? I am at a loss to help you. I know I need more movement in my day and to make better choices in my food and be aware of exactly what I am putting into my mouth. I don't drink enough water, and I know how important that is.Best of luck to you!

Have you considered finding a new doctor - I understand that most lap bands are taken out before the 5 year mark and then the patient has WLS.  I seems as though your doctor has left you to flounder on your own.  Time to see someone else.
