I have;

1.livestrong - I've been tracking (most of the time) and logging fitness and food in that app since 2011

2. my fitness buddy - I think this app cost 3-4$ (for iphone). I use it to mostly get idea's on changing up my routine every month or so

I am going to get a fitbitHR as well because I want to know my exact heart rate all the time.

All you need is my fitness pal.  You can track goals,  weight,  measurements,  and your diet.  It has a vast database so all you have to do is scan a barcode of a food you're  eating and it adds it for you,  or search the database for a food and it automatically tracks the nutrients. Everything you track with it can be reviewed in graph form over time so you can see your progress,  or get a great snapshot of your daily nutritional values.

MyFitnessPal And MapMyRUn work hand in hand.

Just a note about fitness APPS on smart phones the GPS function is highly inaccurate.  GPS on phones is not a GPS direct but rather gets GPS info based on Cell Tower position.  I will carry my phone on a run and show the variance with my GPS watch but I have seen it .25 miles on a mid distance run.
