STOMACH ALWAYS WEIRD AND ALWAYS HUNGRY

My journey is still a long one.  I have some stomach issues and now dealing with colon issues.  Having to go to a specialist for that...and they say it could be, but not sure, associated with the sleeve surgery.

My weight is fluxuating all the time now as I am constantly bloating and retaining fluid.  Hopefully this will be taken care of as soon as we find out what the pocket is beside my colon that is full of fluid and as soon as we see exactly what is going on with the colon itself.

I am happy that to date, I have lost back and forth between 50-54 lbs, but just wish that it would steady out and I would lose and not gain back and forth.

A lot of my problems could be from a broken heart from losing daddy in March of this year.  It has been so hard so the stress is definately an issue.

Very tired of the rollercoaster ride with the weight, but at least am down the amount that I am....
So ready for the health issues to clear up so I can get back on the path to losing steadily.

I am having a lot of issues with feeling nauseated (more than I was before surgery) and always hungry.  I can eat my small portions, and 30 minutes later I have that hungry, empty feeling.  I am now doing the 3 meals and 2 snacks per doctors suggestion to be able to get all my calories in.  And, thank the Lord I am able to now get in all my fluids.  Don't do it every day, but most days I get it all in.

 Anyone else have these issues?

And on top of all the above, I can't get this ticker thing to work right...lol  Not a big issue, but when you are dealing with stuff all the time, even the smallest of things tend to bother you.

I had surgery August 8, 2011...

Hi.  My surgery was 11/11/11.  I am nauseous all the time.  Have only found a few things I can eat -- canned tuna, canned chicken, eggs, ricotta, yogurt, cottage cheese, pineapple, oranges, nuts, zucchini and, oddly enough, potato chips (which I am not eating).  And, after eating these things, I still feel sick to my stomach but at least don't have the dumping which I do with almost everything else.  I left out protein shakes and clear soups.  And I'm hungry.

I'm getting my fluids in but where I used to love water, am having trouble with it and am doing crystal light.

I lost 40 lbs my first month and since then 10-20, I fluctuate daily between those two.  Up and down, up and down.

I am exhausted and want to sleep but work full time.

Plus, I can't get the ticker thing to work either!

Is all of this normal?

From what my nurse says, it is all normal.  Each person is different and experiences are different and some the same.

I have been nauseated for so many years now that this is normal for me but was hoping with the surgery is would go away.  My nurse has been great and has given me some tips to try which seem to help a lot.  Instead of eating the normal way, I eat a little every 3-4 hours (up to a cup 3 times per day and then just snacks the other times.)  It seems to have helped, as well as instead of having to wait 30 minutes before or after eating to drink and visa versa, I wait 15 minutes.  I can't drink just plain water as it makes me very sick and I can't do the crystal light either as it does the same thing to me.  I have been using flavor packets for water from health food store and also a lot of the G2 drinks.  I cut them way down with water so example...the G2 makes me at least 3-4 16 oz drinks, and the same with the flavor packets.  I just have to have a little flavor in it to where it doesn't make me so sick.  My nurse said most of her patients have problem with water for at least a year and then it usually resolves itself.

I pretty much eat what I want as nausea is norm for me, but due to my colon issues (I have a spastic colon and IBS) I stay away from nuts and seeds.  I don't eat much sugar at all but if I do, it is usually on a small bite of something such as chocolate or such...but sweets are not an issue with me so that is not often at all.

My surgery was August 2011 and to date I have lost 70 lbs.  I go up and down constantly but as long as it eventually keeps going down I try not to get to worried or upset about it.

The ticker is aggravating but I just keep playing with it and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I think you should try to do the eating every 3-4 hrs and the not drinking 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after and see if that helps.

I also found out one of the feelings I have when I eat, that I thought was getting sick, was actually the new full feeling, so some of this is being full and just not knowing it yet.

.So, I think the hunger issue is not really hunger a lot of the time but just the new feeling we have after having the surgery.  Sucks, but it is what it is and I am coming to accept it and try not to let it bother me because so many other health issues are better for me now and so I want to be positive about it all.

Make sure you are taking all your supplements as that will make a huge difference in how you feel.  Did you have the sleeve or the bypass?  I had the sleeve.

I am here to talk any time you want to, and I will keep you in my prayers as I know how hard this journey is.

Good luck to you and hang in there and don't get discouraged.
