Memorial Day weekend is approaching and I would like to honour those who died for my liberty by riding this weekend...the weather is going to be beautiful, almost perfect....
I know that immediately post-op, we were on pretty strict weight restrictions (for me, nothing over 10 lbs) for the first couple weeks)...as of yesterday, I was 7 weeks (almost 2 months post-op).
It's really not the rough ride that concerns me (for the record, I ride a 1983 Harley Davidson Wide Glide - FXWG - shovelhead and yes, at low RPM it shakes like a dog passing a peach pit), but the rolling it out of my garage...it is not a light vehicle by any means...I don't want to do any internal damage to any of the work that has been done and has been healing...
I've got an e-mail message in to my surgeon but have not yet heard back...
Can anyone provide some insight/guidance?

Based on my restrictions you should be ok but riding any motorcycle at three weeks is going way outside surgery reccomendations. Any accident, having to pick up bike or just the trauma to the abdominal muscles at three weeks is taking an unnecesssary risk that could land one back in emergency surgery. Fixing a tare or causing an undiagnosed leak is a life threatening issue that is why in most cases there is a six week wait. I would not reccommend it.
