Allergy

About 1 week post op, I developed a rash on my belly. I thought it might  be from thne Heparin injections, but I'm thru with those, and the rash seems to be spreading elsewhere. Could I be allergic to whey?

are you on antibiotics? if so, call your doctor ASAP. Sure, you could be allergic to whey, where you allergic to milk prior to surgery ?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not on antibiotics, and was drinking milk and protein drinks before surgery with no side effects. I did see the doc this week, and he suggested I take Benadryl, which I do, but rash seems to be spreading, not receeding. Oh well, if that's the worst of my problems, then I guess I'm lucky.Guess maybe I;m allergic to water LOL!

Usually food allergies are not localized to one area. You'd have a rash in other places - not just your abdomen. Possible the tape used on your skin? If it doesn't clear up - give your doc a call back. It doesn't seem to be a food allergy.
