I am suffering with this, mine is more genetic but has really gotten worse after I had my twins. Liquid iron is best two times a day.

Bill, I live back in the UK for now, so I am unsure if they have this brand in the States but I did get this from the Chemist by prescription. It's call Galfer Syrup (ferrous Fumarate) 300ml size and it's sugar free. I hope this helps and please don't let your iron get to bad. I have a 3 blood transfusions and due to heart palpitations I have been taken off of work. Take care of yourself.

I just received the same bad news.  Tablets and liquids suggested by orthopedic doctor (and sleep specialist).  I went to my Bariatric Dr.  He said that the tables and liquids would NOT be absorbed in a RNY patient.  I have an appointment Monday with a Hematologist so I can receive Iron Fusions (IV).   I have been SO TIRED.  I just hate this.  I thought it might come form hitting the big 67.  Dr. said that I would feel 50% better immediately after the first and  a "Gazzillion" times better after the 2nd or 3rd.  At that point my hemoglobin should take over to continue the production my body needs.

Hi Marie,

I just found out last week through blood work that my ferritin level is less than one ( my iron). I  have my first doctors appt for my IV iron infusion today. They will also be starting me on B12 IV's. I am praying that this makes me feel better. Due to the lack of iron my hearing in one ear is terrible..just hear a windy noise all the time. I heard that was because of the iron. I just had a CT scan yesterday and everything came back great. I will tell you all about my appt today.

I hope you feel better soon,

Heidi
