I recently had another Ferritin test along with other minerals....well again my ferritin is low it is 8.  Several years ago I had two infusions of iron to raise my Fe levels.

I have done a little research and found out that iron is needed for dopamine and low levels can be related to Rest legs syndrome and sleep disturbances.

Of course fatigue is another symptom of anemia.  TIBC is normal.  Any of you have similar problems?

I was at my peak 5'9" 310 lbs. I am now 152=/- low was 140 highest was 165 lbs.  Surgery was in 2005 with a complication in 2007 (requiring two emergency surgeries within 48 hours) But I am in all other ways very fit and healthy.  I'm 72 with plenty of grey hair.

I also have low iron levels and restless leg syndrome.  I wasn't aware the two were related, thanks for the info.  Do you take bariatric vitamins? I switched brands about 6 months ago and my iron levels have gone up quite a bit, which made me and my doctor happy.  Maybe that is an option you can try?
