Calcium Citrate That Isn't Disgusting?

Hi all.  After my VSG, I received a bag of BariActiv chewable multivitamins, iron, and calcium citrate tablets with my Nascobal B12 nasal spray.  The iron isn't too bad, and I can get down the multivitamin tablets if I chew them and quickly suck down some Crystal Lite.  However, the calcium citrate is like chewing chalk or akin to powdered cement, and I want to gag every time.  As a result, I have not been getting in all of the daily specified supplements.  Does anyone have the same issues, and how did you overcome the reluctance to chew the nasty tablets?  Any suggestions for a less offensive alternative?  I'm all ears.  Thanks.

I take the Bariatric Advantage Chews.  They are great!

I take my calcium citrate in pill form.  I swallow whole with no problems.

I take Bariatric Advantage Calcium chews, caramel flavor. The 250mg chews are a lot better than the 500mg chews.  I've been able to keep them down without any problem. The 250mg ones were like a little treat every time I ate them. The 500mg are more grainy.  Not sure what any of the other flavors taste like as I've only gotten the caramel.

I also take the BA caramel calcium citrate chews 500mg (sugar free). They are not bad tasting and I've tried a lot of different ones on the market.

As for the other nasty tasting chewables...I had to switch to non chewable everything else. I just had to find whatever I needed and now I swallow a bunch of pills each day. But it works for me. Funny how some people want chewables and some don't.

And as always, your mileage may vary!

Thank you everyone for the responses.  It looks like I am going to give the soft chews a try.  I can't deal with the gritty tablets anymore.

I love the bariatric advantage calcium chews.  500mg, peanut butter chocolate flavor.  Three a day for the last 16 months.  Yum!

I am another one for the bariatric advantage calcium chews.  I get the 500s, and I have the caramel and the chocolate ones.  It helps when I need something sweet too.
