Has anybody every heard of this?  I bought it for $2 in walmart in the US and I am planning to take it to my appointment to see if I can have it.  It is called "Super Whey Protein Shot" by Body Fortress.  It is 3 oz, has 110 calories, 26 gr of protein, 1 g carb, 65 mg of sodium and 0 sugars.  What do you think?  If this goes well, and they allow it, I might have just found my morning drink!  Thanks!

My only concern with those is the actual whey protein amount.  What other kinds of protein are they using?

Ummm it says on the label... "This product is made up of a protein blend that contains collagenic protein isolate, whey protein isolate and cassein protein isolate."  I will see if there is more of a break down on the website.  Is there a difference between proteins and what we can have?  Thanks Karen!

Collagen = animal fat . Not good for anyone. Think hooves and horns.

Hooves and horns in jello too, most low fat yogurts, and those NSA twizzlers.

But not as a protein source. RNY'ers only absorb a small portion of collagenic protein.

You should be looking for something that is pretty much just whey protein isolate (and also low in sugar). A couple good ones are Whey Gourmet, Syntrax Nectar and Premier Nutrition (which you can get in ready-to-drink individual servings at Costco). There are many more out there.

I just googled the protein ingredients of it to figure out what exactly hydrolyzed collagenic protein isolate is and I read on another forum called ThinnerTimes a discussion about it.  They basically said that it is no good for us b/c there are not enough amino acids in the protein.  Who knew??  I thought whoo-hooo this will be great and I can get in my protein, but no, I am back to the shakes.  I had no idea that there were so many different types of proteins!  Oh well, thanks again!
