Hi everyone - I'm out of the hospital
Hello to all my buddies - I've missed you all. I am out of the hospital and resting at the Crowne Plaza. Will give you a reader's digest version of the last few days, then post more when I get home later this week.
I am the luckiest girl in the world, because I had Dr. Gmora, the newest surgeon in Hamilton, do my surgery. This man is amazing. He sat with me while they prepped me for surgery, talked me through my tears and my fears, and left me feeling like I had not a care in the world. He is the most caring individual I have met, and I am blessed to have had him as my surgeon. Also, he's very, very good at what he does. I had 5 poke holes, and I do not have one square inch of bruising - nothing, nada. The hospital stay was also very good, again I just felt so very cared for. It's been an extremely positive experience.
However, I still can't believe it's done, I'm moving forward, and of course, I have all these thoughts running through my head that make me weepy - imagine a year from now, what will my life be like; imagine what it will be like to not fill up on medications first thing in the morning; imagine what it will be like to get home and see my family and get some kisses from my grandchildren who have really missed us both alot (but not nearly as much as we've missed them).
I'm taking things slowly, we've gone for a few walks now that the weather isn't 400 degrees!! i'm working on getting in more liquids, but of course, it's difficult right now, and my pouch has done a bit of protesting, but it passes. I have to work on slowing down the drinking - not used to sipping constantly.
I keep referring to so many things I've learned from all of you, and just wanted to thank everyone again for the good wishes and good advice - past, present, and future! I'll post again after we get home on Wednesday.

Glad you are doing well. I would love to hear more about Dr. Gmora and how he was with surgery you can PM if you like and of course only when your feeling up to it. I seen him at the hospital and thinking he may be my surgeon on the 15th of August so I would love to hear about your whole experience with him.
Thanks
