Omg Karen that sounds awful!  I'm glad you're on the mend.

I wonder how common this is.Does anyone know?I'm pre-op and that's just scary.

Yes, it is scary.  I honestly didn't want to scare anyone with my post, but I think it's important to share all of the journey, not just the highlights.  People need to know the risks and make an informed decision about having WLS. 

I don't know how common it is, but I'm sure that someone at your bariatric centre can give you that information.  Or someone on the forum might chime in with that info. 

Just to reiterate: I received fabulous care.  And I still don't regret my RNY!

Sorry to hear about your surgery but glad that they were finally able to establish what was causing the pain and do the repair.

 Wising that recovery is speedy. 

Surgery date May 7 / 2012
Highest 312 lbs - Pre Op 297lbs - now 199 lbs
I know now that my location was never my destination.
