First Day of Opti

Like a few other posters, today is my first day on Optifast.  I had chocolate for breakfast, and it was actually wasn't bad - I blended it in the Ninja with about 400 mls of water and some ice.

I was surprised that I wasn't really hungry for most of the morning - I did get a bit light-headed close to lunchtime, but otherwise I was good!  It helps that I have a lot to get done at work today.

I just had Vanilla for lunch, and while I definitely prefer Chocolate, it's not so bad, either.  I might bring my blender and some ice to work tomorrow, because I think it tastes better that way vs. just mixed with water using my shaker cup.  I also have some 10 cal broth and SF jello to get me through the afternoon.

I haven't used any flavourings yet, but have some ready to go at home for when I need a change.

I wanted to thank everyone for the Opti tips you've given over the last year or so - they've all been so helpful to me.  In particular, the posts about mindset have been helpful - I've prepared well for these 2 weeks, and am going into it with as much positivity as possible.  Remind me of this in 2 days if I'm complaining!

The countdown is on to the big day!

Way to go!

You definitely have the positive side down.  My fav thing about my almost 3 weeks of shakes, was no meal planning or thinking about what I would eat next!  Miss those days.

The two weeks will fly by.  Just make sure you take you shakes at regular intervals, and you shouldn't get light headed.  I used 6, 10, 2 and 6.  But that's based on my work schedule.  Drive in, morning, afternoon and supper at home.

Thanks, Cathy!  That's true, it really is foolproof right now, and since I'm so busy wrapping up at work and getting everything ready for surgery, it's nice to have one less thing to think about.

Good tip on the spacing- I was thinking of waiting until dinnertime until my 3rd shake, but I'm actually getting a bit light headed now since it's been over 4 hours since lunch.  I will probably have it now on the ride home.  Then I can have some broth or jello if I feel like it during dinner, and my last shake in the evening before bed.

Thanks for your support!
